MEJDI - Middle East Justice and Development Initiatives is looking to fill two internship positions focusing on peace building through tourism starting this November 2011. The two internships require a commitment of at least 7 months each.

About the Internship:
Interning with Mejdi is not only a great opportunity to learn about the tourism sector and the inner workings of a socially responsible business, but to also obtain the knowledge and experience in grassroots, peace building in Israel and Palestine.

Before a tour arrives, the position requires intensive teamwork starting months in advance to organize and coordinate the tour with our constructed networks in Israel, Palestine, and Washington, D.C.

Once a tour arrives for its 10-day trip, you will be responsible for accompanying the tour in Israel and Palestine, coordinating the speakers, buses, and hotels; documenting the tour by taking photos, short videos, and receiving testimonials; updating this information to the web, and more.

Along the way, you will also learn about the diverse range of narratives in the Holy Land and gain a deep understanding of the situation on the ground in Israel and Palestine.

 

We Are Looking For Two Interns Who Are:

  1. Detail oriented

  2. Flexible in time management and meetings

  3. Very organized

  4. A self-starter

  5. Highly interested in peace building work

We Are Looking for Two Interns With:

  1. Strong communication skills (oral and written)

  2. English as a first language (or a very high level of English- oral and written)

  3. Advanced computer and office skills (updating/building websites is a plus)

  4. Conversational Hebrew and Arabic oral skills (the more fluent, the better)

  5. Completion of his/her undergraduate degree

We offer $200.00 USD per month plus we will pay for your travel fees to any meeting we have, the travel, hotel, and food expenses during the 10-day tours you participate in, and any cell phone calls you make on behalf of our business.

We are looking for one intern based in Jerusalem and one intern based in the Tel Aviv area.
